Welcome

Welcome to your Kent Fostering Service web-enabled Foster Carers Handbook. It has been designed for new and existing foster carers and deals with the day to day practicalities you may face. For new foster carers, a “Welcome Pack” is provided. To access this click here.

Kent County Council Fostering Service is dedicated to providing the highest possible standard of care to Children and Young People in foster care in line with our Corporate Parenting Pledge.

As foster carers you make a real difference to the lives of children and young people by providing a family to children who really need one. As a Local Authority we want to ensure that we provide the best possible service to children and young people in foster care and to you as foster carers. To do this we need to provide you with a high level of support.

We will add updates to this site whenever new legislation and procedures come in and your Fostering Social Worker will be able to offer further guidance and support. You will also find regular updates of events being held across the county, training, support groups and useful resources.

We hope you find this site a helpful tool to use throughout your fostering career.
